high and tight

Karlie Kloss by Steven Meisel

I'm sure you've all seen the cover. The video for the Vogue Italia December 2011 issue is pretty good too. I miss when it was the holidays and Youtube could let you add falling snowflakes. FYI Karlie is a babe.

I don't think she's gorgeous. I wouldn't like to have her body at all.

eeek... her torso is terrifying. No thanks as well.

Lol I miss it when they let you add snowflakes too, one of the best things about YouTube. I agree with Anon, her torso is too muscular. Otherwise, I love karlie.

I'm rather confused by the term "babe". I don't understand the tendency for the blogger world to admire these tiny tiny women. I do think she is beautiful, but borderline scary skinny. I'm probably the same size as her, but I wear my weight in a healthy weigh, doesn't she seem to strung and tight?
Oh well, personal taste.

I find it interesting that in almost every video related to high fashion, house music is used. It would sound so much better with a beautiful Francoise Hardy song or something.

Damn, who would have thought she'd have washboard abs? That girl has time to work out? haha. She's got a great face.

Gorgeous work!

Haters, she is working 24/7. You think Ms. Minnesota has the time to work out or the insecurity to be anorexic? Not on purpose, at least.

oh cool, nice to see that you support the fashion industry's promotion of obsessive weight issues/unrealistic bodies.
very interesting...
you're ignorant if you think that working out to the extent of having that body is not a form of an eating disorder. obviously i don't blame her but it's the fault of the industry for promoting this so heavily.

Hi lulu, this would be my first comment here, love your blog! To the Anon. above me, Karlie's body is realistic. It's called working out. Just because she has an athletic body does not mean she has an eating disorder.

first time posting a comment here as i felt strongly about the video posted. her body is gorgeous and i'm sure with some additional photoshop-ing, the pictures will be stunning.

BUT HER BODY IS SHOCKING!!

another video showcasing the pressure fashion puts on women. wouldnt be surprised if this video ends up on a thinspiration video!

IT IS SICK!!

** I MEANT FACE!! NOT BODY.
HER FACE IS GORGEOUS.

HER BODY IS DISGUSTING AND SHE NEEDS TO BE FED!!

The photos compared to the video seems like not much photoshop was done. The cover is really great and inspiring. If this pressures people to the gym, how is that bad.

M, my concern is it would pressure people to bulimia and anorexia.. not the gym!

on first instances, i doubt "wow i want to go to the gym to get her abs" comes to mind for most normal people.
for young girls who are still unsure of themselves and their body and love fashion, they are easily influenced by the industry and by what they see.

the whole kate moss waif look caused such concern in the 90's; and even then kate was never this thin or skeletal !!!!!

There is no way anyone is going to be able to look like Karlie, unless they get some gym time. I don't like how being fit, skinny, or "skeletal" is often associated with bulimia and/or anorexia. I'm not sure, but I think models do have nutritionists and trainers. It's really sad that a young girl might attempt to starve herself to look like Karlie or Kate. When in reality, it has everything to do with exercise, healthy food, and sleep.
