Pedro for President

T by Alexander Wang pocket tank, American Apparel leggings, Pedro Garcia mules, Number (N)ine snakeskin cuff, antique cross bracelet, silver hammered ring

Ray: What's that on your finger?

I broke in my new favorite shoes for the summer. These Pedro Garcia mules have a cork bottom that make it just as comfortable as my Chloes. I definitely felt like I needed a summer shoe badly. In case you wanted to know, they run about a half size small.

Another change I've been considering... dying my hair. I've had the same hair for years. Blunt bangs, dark hair. It definitely works for me but I'm a little tired of looking like the goth parade every day. I tried to look for a shade that might work for my pale skin. This Rachel Bilson color stood out to me. Although I have to admit, I have been having extreme hair envy following Nicole Richie's twitter.

Yes? No?

go for it! But it'll prob be a bitch to maintain. Asian hair and dye jobs = fried brassy hair within 3 weeks.

That color would look great on you. Come see me at G Squared in SF, I'll do it for you!

I have dark hair and got tired of it. I tried dying it a deep red, the idiot hair stylist fucked it up, and I got orange. I got the place to fix it for free. It still came out looking like crap. I wish dark hair went light without any issues, but it will be tons of trouble. Put it this way, I will never try to dye my hair in mass amounts ever again.

No! Your dark hair + pale skin is your signature, it ties your looks together. Please don't, you are beautiful the way you are. Besides, Asians rarely look good with light hair and it's so hard to pull it off for them without looking tacky. I'm Chinese myself and I've considered dying my hair too. Highlights, okay. But dying your hair a completely different colour, no!

I love those Pedro Garcia mules. I have got Pedro Garcia sandals and I satisfied with them, so comfy and sex-ay! :)

that'd look really cute, but you need to cut out some of the lighter tones..cause it makes it look really naff, but otherwise! Wooo! :D:D:D

No, please! I love your hair color...

No. I think it will make you look really suburban. Please tell me you aren't getting green contacts too. Don't be one of those Asian girls. We have rad hair the way it is. Seriously, IT IS RAD!!!

YES!

I'm actually thinking of going platinum like Daul.. I think my mom will have a heart attack though but I'm really leaning towards it!

jennamaria said...

DEFINETLY!!!!

you would look wonderful.
go and try.
if it goes wrong you can allways go back for darker.

macyaverage said...

you'd look great either way, but I personally prefer darker hair for you :)

Kate said...

Nooooooo it looks so nice as it is and it works so well with what you wear.
Although I can see why you'd get sick of always having the same hair colour.

NO (on the hair)! If you dye it that way, you'll just look like everyone else, and it won't match your unique and pretty features. If you're bored, why don't you try a new cut instead?

I have really dark, chocolate hair and I know if I were to dye it, it would be a brassy disaster. When I get really bored I just change up the shape.

I love your shoes!!!

Anonymous said...

YES!!! (Besides if you don't like it, it's really easy to dye it back to black)

On the right..no bangs. Its just the hair maintenance that could be a pain in the ass.

i think you should get it, but don't get it from the roots down. get it like midway to the bottom like this

I love the idea of lighter hair on you, and am sure you could pull it off. Go for it!

Those mules look pretty bitchin, gotta love a great summer shoe

Mega said...

You're super pretty and pretty people can pull off anything.

And if you havn't bleached before, it'll be really easy peasy to go lighter. Mine stuffed up because I bleach it a year ago, then dyed repeatedly ith black, then bleached again.

The black hair really suits you but if you want change, then go for it. Also, asian hair is tougher than caucasian, so it shouldn't be too thin.

Your shoes are gorgeous, and that hair would look nice on you.

i love your hair the way it is . be natural
(i'm sure i'll be one of many coments saying the same )
just the other day i decided out of straightening my hair (brazilian).
i had an appointment and everything.

yes from me. though your hair is already perfect.

i love your eye make-up. suits the black look so well, you're beautiful. the photo reminds me of a cat.

2nd photo is so gorgeous lulu. i say no to the dye. i think halfway hair color-wise never looks very good, but i'm biased toward extremes (i.e. black or white blonde a la daul kim). a new edgier cut might suit you well though.

i love that second photo - i think it would look amazing on you! can't wait to see what you decide to do though!

I'd vote for a NO. I agree most Asians don't manage to pull of lighter shades like the ones in the photos. Besides, I think you alr look good! It'll be soo weird i think. And wouldn't you have to dye your eyebrows too? It would add up to a sum for maintenance costs too.

Eh, do it, it's just hair. And it's always easy to go back to dark from light if you don't like the brown.

Christing said...

those shoes are fab and the fact that they are comfortable makes it even better!! def go for a change with the hair...you can always go back anyway. it took me forever to get the right color, but i'm really glad i went light! (i have dark asian hair as well)

Can't quite imagine you in a lighter color.. but go for it if you want!

It'll be a breath of fresh air - i always felt doing something to the hair gives you a new perspective to life.

I'm voting YES, although your black hair and skin tone is gorgeous. (:
Yeah, so, go for it and TRY SOMETHING NEW. I'm chopping off my long hair at the hairdressers tomorrow. Hehe. xxxxxx

It's hard not to be envious of anything Richie.

You look fabulous now, you'll look fabulous with lighter hair.

I think that hair color would look good on you!

Lauren said...

I'm not sure how you'll look with lighter hair but I suggest going to a wig shop and trying some styles on to gauge how a color looks on you. Also, if you do go lighter, don't neglect your eyebrows!!! Brown hair with black eyebrows would look horrible, so please bleach them! Although, for the record, I think you look great as is. :-)

Go blonde!!

actually I change my mind. you should go dark amber red. It will definitely go with your skin tone.

holy hell no.!!!!!!. light hair looks terrible on asian people. hair is wonderful as is

R said...

It really depends on if you actually want a hair change. I think you could go for rachels color, as long as you did it right. Otherwise it will go that orangry shade=not cool.
I just looked at your nicole richie twitter link, her hair looks awesome in those piks eh!?

sunni said...

i say yes! i used to be against asians going brunette because it looked too...azn. but so many girls on dropsnap (yes, i am addicted too) manage to maintain edginess and still play with their hair colour, so why let blondes and brunettes have all the fun?

Swank Heights said...

Dude, NR gives everyone hair + MILF envy.

I think you'd look pretty hot with an easy bob, but what do I know..my hair looks like shizz.

change is good. i think the color wil be pretty on upi. i'm working on lightning up mine as well. a year ago, i had nearly platinum locks and i've progressively made my way to black. i'm ready for something new.

i'm korean, i went this color 3 months ago (http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z169/ohmystarsgarters/camwhorress/kwonsu20.jpg) and i LOVE ITTT. OK my hair is fried to pooey poo and i do miss my super black hair sometimes but whatever, hair grows, and it fits well with the spring/summer (i tend to look more gothy with black hair like you.. i prefer to think of it as edgier though haha)

you're even paler than me, so i think you could pull off this color (courtesy of asian shopping site model): http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z169/ohmystarsgarters/camwhorress/32zou1l.jpggood luck!!

nice pics. like your stare in the second pic.

Honestly, that hair color doesn't even look good on Rachel. As a Korean with dyed hair, I would go for a solid brown on the darker side. Maybe pick out the darkest shade on Ms. Bilson's head and shoot for that. Since you're Asian, I would highly recommend going to a good Japanese salon. They know what they're doing. Also, highlights, unless done amazingly well, might clash with your signature style. I understand not wanting to be a "goth parade" (haha that made me laugh) but you don't want to be pretty pretty princess, nahmean?

trina's reality said...

YES, but try darker shades of highlights ;]

Omg I vote yes to the hair! I also want the shoes.x

change is good but no, i don't think it will look good! don't colour it!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NO. I hate the first photo anyway. She looks... weird. Say no! Hair dye isn't healthy anyway.

vy h. said...

The color would compliment your skin tone, I say go for it, you always can go back.

pigtails and blushing cheeks said...

hmm, honeyblondeish streaks might look abit tacky, what about something darker chocolatey?

fhen said...

try a kind of chocoloate dark shade and add highlight. Caucasian skin is sometimes hard to match with hair colour.
love the shoes and everything black in this post

i think you'd look great but too light hair may look a bit strange on you because you're a korean girl - and haven't they naturally all black hair ? dye your hair dark brown - really dark brown with a few highlights - but not just on the up side but rather also on the whole head .. i think you'd like great - of course u already do

My opinion would be add color, but not full color, ex. red highlights or red underneath. Extensions too can help out bored hair, like the cheap clip on ones, because then you don't have to keep dying/re-dying them.

Taryn Andre said...

hey whats wrong with the goth parade? I kind of like the goth parade look on you....

but its your life your hair your decision lol...dye away!

kei said...

You might check out Tommy February 6's hair selection, she has a nice milk tea-kind of color going on. When she's Tommy Heavenly 6, she goes goth, so you could alternate too like her! She's formally known as Kawase Tomoko, but if you google image search her tommy names you'll see the hair.

I love the dark hair on you! But I TOTALLY understand the need for change. I just covered up my bleach blonde hair after deciding it was a failed experiment. Now I'm thinking brunette is too dark.... aaahh! HAIR!! Can't wait to see what you end up doing! xox
